Game Overview

The Flash game above can be used to practice card counting for Blackjack. The game cycles
through virtual decks of playing cards while you maintain a running count. Options exist
to configure the game to suit your needs. After the shoe has been depleted, the game will
report your finishing time and your count accuracy (if applicable).

Gameplay

Once started, the game presents a number of cards and a next button. Hit the next button
to continue on to the next set of cards. As the cards are presented on screen, maintain a
running count. The running count starts at 0 for all counting strategies. If enabled in the
game options, quizzes will periodically pop up on screen. When this occurs, click on the button
corresponding to the current count.

When all the cards in the shoe have been counted, the game will end. Your completion time and
your counting accuracy (if applicable) will be reported. There is a reset button that you may
click to restart the game at any time.

Game options

On the start page, use the pulldowns to change game options. Several options exist:

Number of decks
Configures the number of 52 card decks used in the shoe. The game will complete when all
cards in the shoe have been played.

Cards per round
Sets the number of cards presented simultaneously. You may play with a static number of
cards each round or elect to have the game select a random (1-5) number each round.

Quiz interval
The game will periodically quiz you for the current count. This option sets the quiz
interval, expressed in number of 52-card decks. For example, selecting 0.5D will result
in a quiz after approximately every 26 cards. Setting the quiz interval to never will
turn off all quizzing.

Count strategy
Blackjack experts have conceived many different counting strategies, each with their
strengths and weaknesses. The game includes a few of the more popular strategies as presets.
These are selected using the count strategy pulldown. If your preferred strategy is not listed,
you may also customize the count strategy using the ten pulldowns on the bottom,
each representing the count increment for a playing card.
